"When God Flips the Tables: A Real Moment with the Holy Spirit"

This morning, I found myself in a deeply emotional space—maybe you’ve been there too. One of those sacred moments when the Holy Spirit convicts your heart so strongly, you can't help but cry. Tears become prayers when words run out. “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle” (Psalm 56:8 NLT). That’s what it felt like—God seeing me exactly where I am.

I’m in a season where I’m truly learning what it means to put God first, not just in word, but in practice. And let me tell you—when you do that, transformation becomes unavoidable. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33 ESV). I’m seeing the truth of that scripture unfold in real-time.

If you’re struggling with sin, or you feel weighed down by depression, anxiety, loneliness, or sadness—what you need isn’t just relief, you need God. You need the Holy Spirit. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17). That freedom is available to all of us, and I’ve been tasting more of it daily.

Lately, God has been showing me the roots of some of my struggles. Some of it isn’t just about bad decisions—it’s about generational patterns. “You must not follow the customs of the nations... it is because of these detestable practices that I drive them out” (Leviticus 20:23). There are things in my bloodline that God has called me to confront. I realize now that I am what I call a mindful codebreaker—someone God has positioned to break spiritual cycles for the sake of generations.

And here’s the beauty of our God—He doesn’t just rebuke us, He teaches us. “Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent” (Revelation 3:19 NIV). He has a way of gently—sometimes not-so-gently—flipping the tables over in our hearts. Just like Jesus flipped the tables in the temple (Matthew 21:12–13), He exposes the mess hidden beneath our routines and habits. Why? Because he’s making room for holiness.

If there’s anything I want to say today, it’s this: Lean in. Talk to God. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. Build a real relationship with Him. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). That relationship—more than anything else- changes lives. It’s changing mine.
